Me and my girlfriend are talking about getting married but she has good credit and mine is really bad im considering bankruptcy but don't wanna ruin her credit so am I better off doing it before we get married

I have been living with my boyfriend 11 years and he just filed bankruptcy on his own. Even though we have all our assets mixed, I did not have to file bankruptcy. However, see an attorney because you might have to show what you own and what she owns in a certain way when you fill in the forms. Even if you were married, I think you can go bankrupt on your own, but I am not an attorney. I am 99% sure and I am a paralegal.
