I would still need a fast method of transportation, so I would buy a horse. I have a feeling that the rest of my community would do the same as well as making space to park the horse while you enter shops. My family would be more centralized because I am assuming that there would not be planes either. Also most occupations would change because it is harder to reach clients who live father away.
