I have an old wooden six-drawer dresser that I am repurposing as a cabinet for my office/craft room.  I want to paint it to blend with black, white, gold and silver.  I am thinking of painting it in stripes using accents of gold metallic paint to make it pop.

Do I need to prep the wood first?  Do I use a sealer or just primer?  What kind of metallic paint do I use?

Hello,

If  by chance  your dresser had already been painted before, first thing is to remove the old paint, then clean before you

prime and lastly put on your primer.  Please use caution when working around chemicals and do make sure that the area

inwhich you are working in is well ventilate. I would love it that you protect your eyes with safety glasses and use a mask

over your nose.

Hope this helps! You can always call a paint company that sells paints, metallics and enquire of their expert opinion.
