To reprint my book published in 1982, I needed an electronic copy to upload. I have Windows Vista and Microsoft Works (not Word). I had the original book scanned (text photo mode)--it didn't meet 200 dpi required for illustrations. I re-scanned each illustration to 300 dpi then inserted them into a Works, converted it to DOCX, uploaded to site, which auto-converts to PDF. Apparently, during conversion, page numbers get moved, blank pages created, and illustrations get squished. I've manually corrected everything (seen thru its reviewer) but the illustrations stay squished. So I thought to convert Works directly to PDF (skipping the DOCX step), but the free online converters will not accommodate the size. Please help me solve this problem.
